Story Of My Life

I saw a picture on face book that said this above it, “Story of My Life” and the picture was a graph with 2 sides. One was a perfect line that said “my plans” and on the other side a scribbly line that said” what actually happened.”

When we make “our plans” for life without including God in the picture, it can be a scribbled up mess. When we want to write our own story and not live His story, our lives can lead to destruction and chaos.

I just read in Johnathan Cahn’s daily devotional that we need hedges in our lives. The word for this in Hebrew is charootz. He explains how making lines of hedges in you life is a decision, determination. We have to be determined to follow Jesus. We need to make decisions that reflect our belief in Him.

When we make a definite decision to follow Jesus and we are determined that nothing will stand in our way then He makes our paths straight. Proverbs 3:6, in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Personally I want the story of my life to be the story He wrote for me because I know it’s good. Jeremiah 29:11,  For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

I Have a Plan….Do You Trust Me?

This week begins with scriptures referencing our need for Jesus. Some people are numb to this fact and others think they have been so bad, how can God forgive them. Sin leads to death.  Romans 6:23, For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Not just eternal death but death in all that we try to do. Everything is meaningless without Jesus. Our sin separates us from God, we are born sinners, it’s our nature. Romans 5:12, Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned. So from the beginning our nature is against God. But even while we were born sinners Christ died for us. Romans 5:8, But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. I read something interesting the other day about Jesus dying for us. He died WHILE we are still sinners. We can understand laying your life down for good innocent people, but He died for ALL the sins of the world including the people who mocked Him, tortured Him, crucified Him.He died for them too. Think about how hard this would be to do. When you realize this then you come to the awareness of God’s great love for us. The thief beside Jesus on the cross asked for forgiveness and mercy by saying: Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom. And Jesus said to him: Truly I tell you, you will be with me in paradise. If we can do what this thief did and realize we have sinned against God, repent and ask for forgiveness then Jesus will say the same to us. Jesus is the ONLY way to the Father, no one goes to heaven except by and through Him. In Jesus there is eternal life! John 14:6, Jesus said to him, “I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.  John 11:25, Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.

Lent to Repent

Psalm 15:1-5 is the reading for today. The psalmist is asking what kind of a person can worship in the Lord’s sanctuary. Who may enter God’s presence and His holiness? It’s people who don’t gossip, lead blameless lives, do what is right, speak truth from sincere hearts…

Ann says: Today repent from wasting time.

I wrote an article about Time here. Do something of eternal value today! Anything having to do with praising God or helping others, loving others, has eternal value.

In reference to the Psalm 15, we know we aren’t perfect. This is why Jesus was sent and died in our place. He is the perfect one who lived without sinning. He is the perfect sacrifice for our sins.[ here is an explanation of this] From He stood in our place so we can live in eternity. After we die, we actually will live because we accepted God’s free gift of Jesus to take our sins away. He is the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. After we receive Jesus we can live a life of freedom to do Kingdom work. Do what God will’s for our lives.

Psalm 32 from Bible Gateway

Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, favored by God] is he whose transgression is forgiven,
And whose sin is covered.

Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute wickedness,
And in whose spirit there is no deceit.

When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away
Through my groaning all the day long.

For day and night Your hand [of displeasure] was heavy upon me;
My [b]energy (vitality, strength) was drained away as with the burning heat of summer. Selah.

I acknowledged my sin to You,
And I did not hide my wickedness;
I said, “I will confess [all] my transgressions to the Lord”;
And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah.

Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to You [for forgiveness] in a time when You [are near and] may be found;
Surely when the great waters [of trial and distressing times] overflow they will not reach [the spirit in] him.

You are my hiding place; You, Lord, protect me from trouble;
You surround me with songs and shouts of deliverance. Selah.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you [who are willing to learn] with My eye upon you.

Do not be like the horse or like the mule which have no understanding,
Whose trappings include bridle and rein to hold them in check,
Otherwise they will not come near to you.
Many are the sorrows of the wicked,
But he who trusts in and relies on the Lord shall be surrounded with compassion and lovingkindness.
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous [who actively seek right standing with Him];
Shout for joy, all you upright in heart.

 Your time will then become very valuable to you. You will WANT to do things of eternal value because you LOVE Him. Love is the key. When you really fall in love with Jesus because of who He is, then you will WANT to follow Him.

What I’m going to write in this article about this movie isn’t what the movie critics have said about it but what God has revealed to me. If you haven’t ever seen the movie, it won’t make a lot of sense but having seen the movie maybe you will have spiritual eyes to see what I’m saying.

The movie goes back and forth with reality and Sandra’s dreams. It is a way of confusing the viewer about what is real and what isn’t. It really can be a confusing movie to watch if you don’t know what’s really going on. I kept track of her awake state and asleep state and figured out what the movie is really about. Now, I don’t know if what I think is what was intended but it’s what God intended me to see.

What God wants us to know is that Satan blurs our line of reality with his LIES! Every time she would go to sleep, she would dream about her husbands death in a car accident.  It is believed that premonitions in dreams are foretelling the future. We have to know what the Bible says about this. In Ecclesiastes 8:7 it says, Since no one knows the future,
    who can tell someone else what is to come?  There is a demonic premonition called an omen. This type of premonition is a sign of things to come. We are forbidden to seek it – even to know its Interpretation. Christians are to stay as far away as possible. Taken from NeverThirstywebsite-

We are forbidden to seek it because when we do we are following demonic forces. Satan is out to steal our lives and even kill us if we allow him to do so. It is in our allowing that Satan has  authority. We have to stand firm in our faith to resist Satan and his demonic attempts to destroy our lives. Earnestly follow the Holy Spirit which leads us into all understanding.  John 16:13, But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father—the message regarding the Son], and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future].

Unfortunately, Sandra doesn’t do this. Instead of ignoring these awful dreams, she actually plans out her husbands death on a calendar! I have learned that our thoughts give birth to words and words to action. When our thoughts are set into motion then they come to pass. Our thoughts, words and actions are what molds our lives. Sandra actually creates her reality from her dream because her thoughts gave way into the possibility.  She realizes the “day” is soon which was Wednesday, I think, and gets really anxious. She decides to speak to a priest. The best move she could make but she believes the LIE more than the TRUTH! The priest advises never to lose faith, hope and love! He said when you do, then you become an empty vessel for the Devil to use! You have to know what to fight for!  She responded, ” I don’t know what to fight for.”

The LIES of Satan obscured her vision, her reality, to where she didn’t know how to fight or what to fight for. I wanted to scream, ” Fight for your husband! Fight for your family!” Satan hates marriage because it is a symbol of God’s love toward us. Evil is out to destroy marriage and the family unit. We must stay diligent to pray for our spouses and our children! Keep our minds and hearts on Jesus and only focus on what the Holy Spirit has for us to do. When we open our minds to premonitions and anything else of satanic origin it opens the door to satanic activity.  Maybe this is why Paul said ,”Finally, [a]believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart]. Philippians 4:8

Take this as a warning, evil is worse than we can imagine. Evil  traps us and then it’s too late. It begins in our minds. Don’t take even the smallest step into that direction lest YOUR life become a demolition as well.
